Refreshed FC Dallas Prepares to Face LAFC

It’s another perfect night for soccer here in Southern California.
FC Dallas is disappointed after Wednesday’s collapse, but they took the couple of days break to refresh themselves. Head coach Nico Estevez mentioned during the press call this week that he gave the whole squad a break to see the ocean, catch up with friends, or just explore LA. The team came back refreshed for their team dinner on Thursday evening.
That lightened mood will be needed as the team will also face LAFC without stalwart center back Nkosi Tafari who will serve his game suspension tonight after earning two yellow cards against the Galaxy.
There are no major additions expected to the lineup, other than Omar Gonzalez getting the start. Jesus Ferreira should be healthy enough to get a look. Otherwise, Nico is trusting what has become his preferred lineup as of late. Will it work?
Steve Davis remarked on his blog post today that this moment may be a reality check.
“But FC Dallas needs to look better than it did Wednesday down the road in Carson, Calif.”
He’s right. The pressure is mounting even if the team may claim it is not feeling the extra burden. Every game is closing the window on making a run to a playoff spot. They need to right the ship again soon and find some ways to get a result on the road, a feat they have done before.
