Paxton Pomykal Is Okay
In a brief time with press on Wednesday, FC Dallas Head Coach Nico Estevez shared a reason for fans to breathe a sigh of relief.
On Wednesday, FC Dallas Head Coach Nico Estevez met with reporters to talk about the upcoming match against Los Angeles FC.
The most important news was this - Paxton Pomykal is day to day. His MRI was negative. He practiced fully on Wednesday.
If that holds, Paxton likely will feature on Saturday evening in some fashion.
Nico holds his cards close to his chest, so we could see a scenario where Nico decides to start both Facundo Quignon and Edwin Cerrillo, opting for a more defensive lineup. Paxton could come on in a pre-cautionary style as a sub to boost the effort for a tying or go-ahead goal.
After the home win on Saturday, Nico indicated that Paxton’s decision to come off early was in the player’s court - Paxton knows his body best. He knows his discomfort level, what feels right or wrong.
With that said, all signs point to another start for Paxton, who has been a focal point for FC Dallas this season.
Thank goodness!
