Major League Soccer announced its All-Star voting opening up today.
As usual, there are restrictions as to who can make the cut as the team faces Arsenal later this summer.
It’s, like anything Major League Soccer does, a bit complicated.
From the press release:
12 players will be determined by a vote of MLS players, fans, and media. Each of the three voting groups will represent one-third of the combined vote.
12 players will be selected by MLS All-Star head coach Wayne Rooney of the host team, D.C. United.
Two players will be selected by MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
Who do you think of FC Dallas players deserve a spot? I think Jesus Ferreira is an easy pick, and it would be hard-pressed not to include Maarten Paes for his performances. Nkosi Tafari has been good. I’d love to see Alan Velasco too. Players must have been in like 50% of their team’s games. So no last minute transfers, I guess.
Here is how to vote:
Fan voting opens today, Wednesday, May 31, at 12 p.m. ET and will close at 11:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday, June 14. All fans can vote on https://www.mlssoccer.com/all-star/2023/vote/fan-vote or via the MLS App, and every fan has the unique opportunity to share their picks on social media.
