Match Predictions: FC Dallas at Portland
After the midweek win, FC Dallas take on the Portland Timbers and hope to keep the good times rolling. Here's our predictions.
Welcome to another FC Dallas gameday.
While it’s a late match for anyone not on the west coast, the fact is that Portland remains as tough a place to play as any in this league, no matter when the game is, so anyone’s guess is good for how this match might unfold.
FC Dallas roll into town after scoring a couple of brilliant goals at home to grab three points against St Louis City SC, so their mood should be strong even if their injury report is still too darn high. This is a match where Dallas will look to take advantage of a counter or two to push the game but hope to keep Timbers toothless. That’s easier said than done in front of what is usually a raucous crowd.
Here is what our contributors suggested for the evening:
Ismael Belkoura predicts a 1-0 Dallas victory, goal by Obrian.
Jose Carmona predicts a 1-0 Dallas win, goal by Jesus (which would push him to 11 for the season).
Tommy LeBeouf is emphatic that it will be a 2-0 DALLAS win.
I’m going with a 0-0 draw, even though I think there will be plenty of chances from both teams. Dallas will look to make it a defensive slugfest though and squeak through.
