How is the MLS on AppleTV thing working out?

Apple posted some solid numbers today. I thought the economy was bad? Regardless, what does this mean for Major League Soccer?

It’s way too early to know what the long term picture is for Apple to get into the sports business. MLS Season Pass has been pretty good, although there are definitely some technical glitches that pop up. And I have heard whispers of some frustration from local front office staff who bear the brunt of Apple’s demands.

But yo, Apple is raking in the cash.

Check out this chart:

Services continue to grow as Apple builds off of hits like Ted Lasso and likely because they are gaining eyes through sports and other offerings.

With that said, I think Apple needs to move quickly to improve the visibility of Season Pass. It’s sort of hidden at times. Baseball may be slightly more popular right now, but soccer holds more promise to grow globally. I hope they can figure out how to re-create the app so it reveals your subscribed content first.

What has been your early season review of the MLS deal with Apple? Is it working out for you?
