Happy New Year!
Afterburn Soccer is coming up on our one year anniversary. How has it been going?
Hello, readers and listeners!
Happy New Year!
Afterburn Soccer launched a little under a year ago, springing from our good friends at
to take our little blog, podcast, and live show into some fresh directions, covering all things FC Dallas, North Texas SC, Major League Soccer, and USMNT.It’s been fun. And we’ve learned a lot.
Have we made any money doing our little live show? Of course not. But that’s okay.
Yes, we have one paid subscriber. That doesn’t cover the costs to our Ecamm livestreaming software, but it’s a start. (We do recommend Ecamm by the way.)
Is it about the money? Of course not. I don’t think Jose, Ismael, or I planned to see this as anything but our extension of our fandom, appreciation, and care for FC Dallas soccer.
Still, it’s an opportunity to build and grow as we enter 2024.
What should you expect in this New Year for Afterburn Soccer?
One, we will still feature our livestream and podcast at least once a week, although life (and offseason) happens so there may be a week or two when we are absent.
Two, occasional articles about what is happening with FC Dallas and North Texas, in particular interviews and exclusive content. We are going to post less in 2024, largely because there are incredible folks like Drew at
who keep us abreast of the day to day stuff. Instead, Afterburn will do a little more digging in and focus on a few pieces here and there with more depth.Third, more interviews. My hope is to get more Zoom calls setup with various FC Dallas affiliated folks to talk soccer, their life stories, and what their dreams are. In particular, when FC Dallas travels to LA in May, you can expect some cool content.
I am open to hearing more from you, readers and fans, as to what you would love to see covered as we look forward to another season.
Until then, Dalls til we die.
