FC Dallas Claw Back a Point in San Jose
Was this a great performance for FC Dallas? No. But did it earn a point? Yes.
FC Dallas found a way.
That’s important, and it’s the kind of data point that separates a mediocre team from a good one.
In this situation, in San Jose, down a goal, FC Dallas found a way.
In particular, that was a Tafari goal. Another Tafari goal to rescue a point.
And from this author’s perspective, it was a vital point, because FC Dallas didn’t necessarily deserve it after a lackluster first half. There just weren’t that many opportunities. And yet, FC Dallas found way to come out with a point.
Post-game, Nico addressed how tense things can be. “Soccer is a passionate sport. San Jose plays a lot heated. We are a team that wants to focus on soccer. We want to try to better. When things become heated, we want to calm down and address how things can calm down.”
Indeed, San Jose and Dallas ended with some fireworks and intensity.
Good.
If you needed some non-comittal language, then “What we were trying to do was not change what where trying to do.”
Thanks, Nico.
Here is the most important reality. FC Dallas came away with a point on the road despite serving up the latest and least performance. And that is worth celebrating.
