Alan Velasco: Stock Up
With his stock rising from strong performances, Velasco is rumored to get the callup to the Argentinia U23s and is on the radar for the Olympics.
Daniel Nohra is reporting that Alan Velasco is getting the call-up to Argentina’s U23.
This comes at a prime moment after Velasco terrorized Sergio Busquets and earned the admiration of Lionel Messi in FC Dallas’ penalty kick loss to Inter Miami.
The call-up to the U23s puts Velasco in contention for a spot in the Olympics next year for his country, a sign that his stock continues to rise.
Nico Estevez remarked recently that Velasco’s move to the center is a result of his continued maturation and growing game experience. The move adds to his value for FC Dallas. We’ll see where he might slot in for Argentina as he competes to represent his country on a larger stage.
Of course, the downside is that Alan will likely miss a couple of games in this final stretch run as his team pushes for a playoff spot.
