Afterburn Soccer Show Goes Live Tonight: FC Dallas Can Make the Playoffs?
What a result for FC Dallas as they crush Austin FC 2-0. North Texas SC meanwhile had a big setback in their push for the postseason against SKC II. We go live at 7 PM CST to break it all down.
Welcome back to another Monday in America, another chance to talk soccer and lift our spirits from all the heaviness of the world.
Afterburn Soccer Show is a live soccer podcast, streamed on YouTube, centered on the joy of our FC Dallas and North Texas SC squads. And it’s been an exciting stretch run for both teams with postseason looming ahead.
The big one we will get into - FC Dallas is really back. I know you can go back and read some of my past articles, and you may find me a tad critical at moments. I admit to those flaws, but the season has been a rollercoaster for fans. We’ve seen spectacular moments but lots of misery. I give so much credit to the fans who have stuck by this team’s side through the twists and turns, the poor run of play, the disappointments.
But on Saturday night, FC Dallas got a win that can help them move up the standings and creep into the playoff conversation. They aren’t there yet, but if this strong run of form continues, the Burn are going to make things interesting. For a season that has looked for long stretches like a disaster, that is welcome news.
We will hear from Eric Quill. We will talk about the goals by Petar Musa and Bernard Kamungo. We will have some.
North Texas SC meanwhile went the opposite direction, settling for a draw against a tough SKC II performance. This was not the game they needed. While they are not out of anything yet, the result pushes them out of the playoff standings. They need to win at least two games, two of which are on the road, to feel comfortable about their odds.
Are they capable? Of course. Will it go down to the wire? Absolutely.
