Afterburn Soccer Show Goes Live
For FC Dallas fans, it's a great week with wins in the Open Cup and at home against Austin FC. North Texas meanwhile suffered their first loss of the year. We go live at 8 PM CST to break it all down.
After some tough weeks and a poor start to the season, FC Dallas are getting healthier and stronger all over the pitch. Sure, questions will remain as the team tries to make up ground in the densely packed Major League Soccer Western conference. But we can take a nice breath this week.
Jesus Ferreira and Petar Musa played well, supported by a stout defensive performance, and FC Dallas closed out a solid three points at home against in-state rival Austin FC.
Add to their advancing against Memphis in the Open Cup, even if it came off of a Logan Farrington second half goal, and fans can feel hopeful again.
That doesn’t mean we aren’t still wondering. What does the midfield need to unlock to truly take over a game? When can the squad get healthy? Is there hope for Alan Velasco being back by this summer? Is Ema Twumasi a lock at right wingback, or will Geovane Jesus begin to work his way into the picture?
North Texas meanwhile started the season in excellent form, and as of last weekend, the only unbeaten team left. That unfortunately didn’t last, as a late free kick goal gave host Town FC a huge victory. Coach John Gall, who we will hear from on the show tonight, was disappointed but admitted that teams would be gunning for his side the longer they kept the streak up. The young roster would love to have this back, but there are lessons to be learned.
Major League Soccer is cooking though. Giroud to LAFC? What do you think?
We’ll see you at 8 PM CENTRAL STANDARD TIME, as we take your comments and questions live.
